Welcome to Pink Belt Productions

Jazmine Preece and Bridget Bowers founded Pink Belt Productions after the two came together to create the coming-of-age queer short film written by Bridget titled Bin Glitter.

The company formed from the two after realising an opportunity to contribute to the industry. A female-dominated production company that holds the values Jazmine and Bridget demanded to be followed on the set; a comfortable and heard environment, female-driven stories and female-dominated sets as well as invested emotional time into the chemistry and emotion of a story.

What started as a Christmas gift handed before heading to set as a runner, quickly turned to a symbol of empowerment. The two decided to invest in pink belts for all heads of departments representing the feminine yet determined nature of crew members, ensuring the values of a comfortable set that became the forefront of every production to come after.

Jazmine Preece // Producer (Co-Owner)
Jazmine Preece took an interest in producing with the purpose to create a cohesive crew that maintains the ethical and social ideals of the stories she intended to create. After perusing exciting short scripts, she decided to dedicate her time creating more queer, female-focused narratives that went against the grain of purposing negative tropes.

Bridget Bowers // Director (Co-Owner)
With a script supervising and script editing background, Bridget took what she learned from show running a writer’s room, representing the school of film and TV department and script supervisor workshops, to direct her first short. Bridget decided from the beginning of her career to pursue stories that represented the complicated nature of a female experience focusing on female-driven stories.
