Fragments follows Jean O'Reilly, Ireland's first supermodel, who spiraled into a world of drugs and vanished from the spotlight. Now, she's emerged as an artist, turning broken pieces from Florence into exquisite art and traveling the world with her exhibitions, advocating for victims of sex trafficking and sharing her story.

ORIGIN

I (Bridget) first met Jean while studying journalism at Florence University of the Arts. I was tasked to write an article for the university’s website about Jean’s art exhibition, which commenced for the duration of my stay. During the interview, we ended up spending three hours discussing topics beyond her art and getting to know each other. 

She sensed my need to explore the world and invited me to Milan for the weekend. It was there, amidst her support, that I discovered the true meaning of finding beauty in what feels as if it has destroyed you. 

Following this transformative weekend, Jean’s daughter approached me with a deeply personal request: to write a documentary about her struggle with drug addiction—a story that had remained untold until now. We are determined to tell her story together.
